Position Summary:
The College of Business at Franklin Pierce University is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Professor, with a focus on Accounting and Finance. We welcome applications from individuals dedicated to achieving teaching excellence and maintaining a continuous program of research, publication, and service contributions to the profession, university, and community.
Responsibilities include delivering high-quality advisement and mentoring to students, actively participating in ongoing program assessment, and contributing to IACBE accreditation requirements. We prioritize candidates who have demonstrated teaching excellence, innovation, and a commitment to working with diverse populations and perspectives. Strong candidates will exhibit a dedication to cross-disciplinary collaboration and collegiality.
- Engage in comprehensive curricular assessment across all academic levels, providing valuable insights for ongoing improvement.
- Offer academic advising services to guide students in their educational journey and career pursuits.
- Contribute to recruitment efforts aimed at attracting talented individuals to the college, university, and professional community.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of full-time and part-time faculty members within the College of Business.
- Support the delivery of our MBA and MSA program, including its fully online experience and the three-plus-one program option for undergraduate students.
- Actively participate in ongoing program assessment activities to maintain our IACBE accreditation and foster continuous enhancement.
- Foster a culture of innovation among faculty members, promoting the development of new courses and innovative teaching methods.
- Manage a teaching workload of four campus courses per semester, with online teaching opportunities available across various programs.
- Provide a conducive learning environment with manageable class sizes, facilitating student engagement and success on our Rindge, New Hampshire campus.
Candidates should possess a PhD, EdD, or DBA in Accounting or a related field from an accredited institution with preference for those who have earned their degree from an AACSB/IACBE accredited institution. All but degree (ABD's) will be considered with the expectation of completion of the degree no later than the start of employment. (estimated August 2024)
- Candidates with an MBA/MST and a minimum of 5 years of professional accounting practice along with college-level teaching experience will also be considered, ideal candidates should possess a PhD, EdD, or DBA in Accounting or a related field; however, preference will be given to applicants holding active CPA, CMA, CIA credentials.
- Desired candidates should exhibit teaching expertise across various accounting domains, encompassing general principles, cost accounting, auditing, income tax, financial reporting, corporate taxation, as well as forensic accounting and fraud.
- Essential to this role is a demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality teaching, with the ability to effectively engage students through various instructional methods.
- The position encourages and expects active participation in high-quality research endeavors and professional engagement or service.
