Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The College of Education’s Human Development and Quantitative Methodology seeks qualified applicants for a research and financial coordinator, reporting to the Director of Administrative Services. This position will work in the areas of finance, grant development and faculty research support. Monitor and reconcile grant accounts, maintain budgets, prepare grant related University forms, and act as a liaison between the department and the Office of Research Administration. This position will be in charge of submitting grant proposals in both of the university and sponsor portals. Work requires the ability to acquire and utilize comprehensive knowledge of grant policies and procedures. Candidate must demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and a helpful demeanor in all interactions. Position involves regular communication and teamwork with the Dean’s office.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Experience:
  • Two – Four (2-4) years experience in administration, accounting, grants, and/or a related field.
  • Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Strong skills in budgeting and Excel. 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills; good communication skills. 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and be a team player. 
  • Experience with electronic grant submissions, account and financial procedure systems in a University setting. 
  • Experience with Kuali Research.
