The Assistant Director of Student Services is a key part of the Law School Student Services team. This position reports to the Director of Student Services and will join a highly collaborative Student Services team whose mission is to create a student environment where all students can thrive. The position develops resources, creates programming and counsels law students in support of this mission.
Duties include:
1. Acts as the Law School’s internal contact for students on housing issues. Creates resources, develops programming, and meets one-on-one with admitted and current students about housing questions and concerns. This is a new function in Student Services and will involve creating new programs and relationships to help students identify affordable, flexible housing options that complement their educational and financial goals.
2. Develops programming initiatives to create an inclusive student community where all students can thrive. Administers and expands programming for high-need student constituencies. Works closely with the DEI Director on community-building initiatives for students from under-represented backgrounds and first-generation students. Acts as the advisor for the Student Bar Association and provides general oversight for student organizations and activities, working closely with the Student Services Coordinator.
3. Supports the Director of Student Services in addressing individual student well-being concerns, including meeting one-on-one with students struggling with personal situations and connecting them with appropriate campus resources. Handles routine requests for support and escalates serious situations to the Director of Student Services as appropriate.
4. Provides support for logistically complex events such as Welcome Week, Commencement, and exam administration. Supports the goals of the Student Services Office through other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 1 year of experience working in a student-facing higher education position or in a comparable advising, counseling, or programming role.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with students and campus and community partners
- Professionalism and discretion handling confidential and personal information about students
- Comfortable presenting programming in front of large groups of students
Preferred Qualifications
- JD degree or 4+ years experience working in higher ed in student-facing positions
