About the Wichita Falls YMCA
Our Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy Spirit, mind and body for all.
A Brief History of Our YMCA: The Wichita Falls YMCA first opened its doors in 1944 in the middle of a strip of downtown businesses. The organization grew quickly and the historic four-story building that sits at the corner of 9th and Austin was built after World War II, opening in September of 1949. For many decades the top two floors offered safe, affordable housing to tenants. Currently the building serves as home to corporate offices along with a complete workout facility (the Downtown Y) indoor swimming pool, basketball gym, suspended track and racquetball courts.
The Wichita Falls Y has 4 branches, Downtown/Metro Offices (1949), Bill Bartley Family Branch (1982), Dillard Early Learning and Youth Academy (2021), and YMCA Early Learning Academy at Colonial (2023).
The YMCA of Wichita Falls completed a four-building, $16 million expansion in January of 2021. The expansion renovated the Bill Bartly Family YMCA, constructed an indoor sports complex home to soccer, basketball, and volleyball, and the Dillard Early Learning and Youth Academy facility. The Bill Bartley YMCA will conclude expansion with the addition of 22,000 square foot, multi-pool Indoor Aquatics Center in the next two years. Construction is projected to begin in 2024 with expected completion in 2026.

- Expand the Impact of The YMCA – Engage our local military, increase brand awareness, strengthen partnerships, introduce programs to Texoma communities.
