The Department of General Business in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University (located in Morgantown, WV) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position starting in August 2024. This position is one-year and may be renewable subject to performance and funding. The position will involve research under Dr. Alicia Plemmons, in the topics of economics, regulation, and healthcare. In terms of research duties, the Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to lead independent research projects and collaborate with faculty and doctoral students in the Chambers College with the goal of publications in reputed journals in economics or related fields. The position does not have any formal teaching requirements, but the Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to attend graduate student seminars and work with graduate students involved with outreach and policy evaluation. The Postdoctoral Fellow will have the opportunity to collaborate with scholars within the Knee Regulatory Research Center, Center for Free Enterprise, and Nemacolin Lab under the discretion and direction of Dr. Alicia Plemmons. Candidates with a Ph.D. or DBA in economics and related fields (e.g., management, entrepreneurship, information systems) or a healthcare-related discipline that involves coursework in statistical methods and policy evaluation are encouraged to apply. Salary and benefits are appropriate for experience and qualifications. The position and start date are subject to budget approval.

 

Qualifications
 


Qualified candidates must hold at the time of appointment a Ph.D. or DBA in economics and related fields (e.g. management, entrepreneurship, information systems) or a healthcare-related discipline that involves coursework in statistical methods and policy evaluation. PhD candidates in the advanced stages of their dissertation will also be considered but they should have earned their PhD degree before the start date of this position. West Virginia University (and The John Chambers College of Business and Economics) is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research and/or service, to the excellence of the academic community.
