Schedule:
Full-Time position working 40 hours per week Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM. Hybrid work style with some hours working in-person.

What You'll Bring to the Role:

  • 4 to 6 years of payroll and/or benefits HR experience.
  • Expert skill level using MS Office products, particularly Excel.
  • Previous experience and demonstrated capability using HRIS.
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations, specifically related to payroll and benefits administration, leave administration (FMLA, ADA), and government agency reporting requirements (EEO)
  • Demonstrate capability in benefits administration.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously on an ongoing basis.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee HR payroll processing, including approval of final payroll batch. Work closely with Finance on any payroll related matters and provide Finance with payroll related information as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations related to payroll.
  • Maintain positive relationship with payroll vendor and ensure PPSAT is utilizing payroll system to best practice standards and to the fullest capacity of the payroll solution.
  • Maintain HR information and manage relevant employee changes (pay, positions, employment status, etc.) in Payroll and our HRIS system.
  • Develop and maintain reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools in HRIS. Maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data, provide analysis to senior leadership as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of current trends in HRIS with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and the application of key technologies.
  • Administer benefits, including medical, dental, vision, HRA, HSA, FSAs, life insurance, STD/LTD, and other benefits offered in accordance with PPSAT policies. Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations related to benefits; report regularly on legal and regulatory changes that may impact PPSAT benefit administration. Manage employee benefit changes in a timely fashion
  • In partnership with the benefits broker, Director of HR and VP of Organizational Development, plan and administer annual open enrollment period. This includes preparation (or revision) and distribution of materials, conducting meetings to communicate changes to employees, and processing changes within deadlines.
  • Administer leave and accommodation requests, including those related to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and others as relevant. This includes communicating with employees and supervisors of the status of these requests and ensure understanding of eligibility of benefits, as well as managing any paid leave banks offered by the organization that will run concurrent with approved leaves.
  • Act as first Point of Contact for Workers Compensation matters. This includes reviewing any First Incident Reports submitted following an employee’s exposure, illness or injury and, if applicable, submit claim to the workers compensation insurance company.
  • Lead the interactive process in requests for reasonable accommodations and, in partnership with Director of HR and manager, determine whether there are possible accommodations that would not create an undue hardship.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of HR programs and company-wide policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Manage general employment life cycle activities including on-boarding, change of status, and termination.
  • Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the HRIS system and payroll outputs, employee surveys, exit interviews and benchmark data as available. Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Lead and provide support/inputs to HR project initiatives as assigned.
  • Identify opportunities to develop and/or provide training for employees and managers in topics such as timecard approvals, change of status forms, the Leave process, reasonable accommodations, 403b accounts, among others.
  • May provide support to a wide range of employee events (examples include employee appreciation activities, holiday celebrations).
  • Communicate proactively with employees and supervisors to resolve administrative or payroll issues.

Compensation:
PPSAT's compensation philosophy is based in equity and transparency. Starting offers are determined by both the candidate's experience and internal equity within the pay grade. The starting pay for this position would fall within the range of $53,500.00 to $65,600.00 paid annually.
