Electrical Utilities & Substation Technology Instructor
Job Description
Mitchell Technical College is seeking an Electrical Utilities & Substation Technology (EUST) Instructor to join the Mitchell Technical College (MTC) Team beginning Fall 2024. The position is open until filled.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Must be a Journeyman Substation Technican or equivaltent.
- Diploma in Power Line Construction & Maintenance required, Associate of Applied Science Degree, preferred.
- Knowledge of regulations that apply to electrical substation work (OSHA, NESC, etc.)
- Pass a state and federal criminal background check.
Preferred Skills
- Passion for training with a high level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
- Experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of electric power control equipment, transmission lines, distribution lines, and/or electric generating equipment.
- Experience with testing equipment.
The EUST position will be responsible for:
- Coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom and lab instruction.
- Leadership in both academic and workforce areas to fulfill the educational goals and objectives of the EUST program and MTC.

Annual Security Report/Campus Security Crime Statistics
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act requires that the college’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report which includes crime statistics be made available to prospective employees and prospective students upon request. Mitchell Tech’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported Clery crimes that occurred on campus and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus safety and security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault prevention and response, timely warnings, emergency response, and other matters.
