Adjunct Coaching (Head Women's Cross Country Coach)

DESCRIPTION

Adjunct Instructors are temporary, part-time faculty. Antelope Valley College invites applications for our applicant pool for Coaching discipline.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES


 1). The assignment entails coaching the Varsity Women's Cross-Country teams, and all aspects related to the Cross-Country program.

2). Assignment of off-season conditioning and team courses based on applicant meeting minimum qualifications.

3). Coach and administer all aspects of the Women's Cross Country Intercollegiate Cross-Country programs.

4). Select, train, and supervise assistant coaching and game operations staff.

5). Motivate and guide student-athletes to achieve academic success and assist in their matriculation to the four-year level and/or in meeting their vocational training goals.

6). Evaluate, plan, and coordinate all programs relevant to the success of student-athletes in the Intercollegiate Women’s Cross-Country programs.

7). Oversee preparation of the schedule.

8). Monitor and stay within the assigned budget.

9). Engage in approved fundraising activities to supplement the program budget.

10). Assist in the identification, procurement, and inventory of supplies and equipment for the Intercollegiate Women’s Cross-Country programs.

11). Ensure all facilities and modes of transportation are used safely and maintained properly.

12). Promote the Intercollegiate Women’s Cross-Country programs within the community and our contiguous recruiting areas through recruiting, public appearances, promotional efforts, community service, camps, clinics, etc.

13). Observe all Antelope Valley College District (AVCD) Board Policies and Procedures.

14). Comply with all California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA), Western State Conference, and college rules, regulations, and policies.




MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:


Possession of a master’s or above in kinesiology, physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise, or adaptive physical education OR Bachelors in any of the above AND Master’s or above in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration, or physical therapy.
