DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Gender Health Program Director, the position primarily oversees, provides leadership, and training for all front-end duties such as check in and check out, scheduling, registration, referrals, authorizations, patient administrative messaging, patient forms completion and prior authorization process. Position is responsible for other advanced administrative duties such as templates, office purchases, coaching, as well as new employee onboarding and orientation. The Gender Health Intake Coordinator has oversight over junior counterparts. The Patient Coordinator is responsible for the full range of oversight and training for registration/authorization and administrative messaging/forms and department processes and will be responsible for implementing medical necessity checking and issuing of ABN forms, The Gender Health Intake Coordinator acts as the first line of contact for patient complaints and takes a proactive role in providing excellence in patient experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Four (4) years of appropriate experience in a hospital or ambulatory setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Previous ambulatory care experience with skill and knowledge of practices in Ambulatory setting.

  • Experience in referrals and following specific scheduling protocols.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage interpersonal conflict.

  • Demonstrated ability to mitigate patient complaints and enhance the patient experience.

  • Working experience with Microsoft Office Products with demonstrated proficiency.

  • Knowledge of medical insurance, authorization and referral processes.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in an administrative lead role & front office administration.
  • Experience with trans and gender diverse communities.
  • Experience coordinating with medical and surgical team.
  • Knowledge of Epic/Cadence scheduling highly desired.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $63,016 - $78,384 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $30.18 - $37.54

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
