Multifunction Svcs Inter Supr

Job Description

Job Summary

Endoscope processing technicians specialize in the decontamination, disinfection, documentation, and delivery of medical devices and related accessories to various customers. The role of the processor encompasses all aspects of reprocessing soiled devices while working individually and as part of a team. The medical devices have become increasingly complex and require focus and skill to assemble and disassemble. With the addition of work associated with research, processors are required to know how to reprocess an abundant amount of equipment and often are blamed without cause for damage, leading to disheartenment. CSPD/CERD departments need the resources to provide the essential work to support customers and provide optimum care to patients. The only way this will be possible is to ensure CERD is properly staffed and supervised.

Due to the complexity involved with this type of work performed in CERD, supervisors of processors must possess the same skills and qualities listed above in order to effectively supervise staff.

CERD supports 38 departments on the main campus including the ORs across all segments for high level disinfection needs with over 85 different models of scopes, probes, and a multitude of other devices.
