JOB PURPOSE
The TDL Engineer Lead will be responsible for managing and leading the TDL Team, providing troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of Tactical Data Link (TDL) systems within a shipboard and shore lab facility environment an overseeing scheduled Data capture, extraction and analysis.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
  • Provide managerial oversight and systems expertise in the setup, execution, and management of Multi-TADIL Network Operations.
  • Offer instruction and support in the utilization of the Joint Multi-Tactical Data Link Network across various platforms and operations.
  • Ensure secure communications and manage software, and hardware essential for mission requirements.
  • Provide TDL systems technical support of BMD interoperability testing, operations, and data collection in T&E environment.
  • Lead system installation, operation, and maintenance of NGC2P, CDLMS, MLIU, C2P, C2PS, and TNP\
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain TDL systems to include CDLMS, C2PS, LMMT, MOS, and JTIDS
Other duties as assigned.
Must be able to operate both independently and in team environment to execute assigned tasking.
Must be able to travel 10% or as needed.
Must be willing to work extended shifts


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Education/ Required:
  • This position requires an existing U.S. Government DoD granted security clearance/eligibility at the final Secret level. Individual must be able to maintain the necessary security clearance/eligibility for employment. U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • 4 year post secondary education, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from recognized University or should have at least 7 years' experience working with complex Missile Defense (MD) communications systems and equipment.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen
  • Job Located at a U.S. Government Facility in San Diego, CA.

Experience
  • Must have experience with test, analysis, and troubleshooting of complex communications hardware problems for development and/or modification to C4I system hardware components.
  • Experience in the configuration and operations of various TDL Test Tools including DLTT, LMMT, and NSITE
  • Experience in design, installation, integration, and testing of complex communications systems.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a team environment as well as independently and provide direct interface with customers.
  • Familiarity with CDLMS, C2P, NGC2P/JRE, LOS and satellite communications, power supplies, and encryption devices desired.
  • Experience with commercial and militarized documentation and configuration management.
  • Four or more years in a C5I or C4I-SR military or DoD environment performing Multi-TDL J testing, system validation and repair.
  • 2 or more years of demonstrated experience in successfully leading, managing and mentoring a team in a military or DoD TDL Testing and Evaluation (T&E) or Real World Operations (RWO) environment.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the standards set forth in MIL-STD-3011 and STANAG 5518 (Interoperability Standard for the Joint Range Extension Applications Protocol (JREAP)).
Preferred:
  • 3 or more years experience operating in Command and Control Battle Management (C2BM) multi-TDL T&E environment.
  • Completion of the Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) Course of Instruction. In lieu of JICO certification, other JICO-related courses will be considered such as JT-102 Multi-TDL Advanced Joint Interoperability Course (MAJIC), JT-201 Multi-TDL Planners Course, JT-220 Link Unit Managers Course (LUM), etc.
  • Experience providing TDL systems hardware and software support coordination and integration of system upgrades and engineering changes to maintain fielded and engineering baselines.
  • Experience providing TDL systems interoperability support during BMDS Flight Test Missions, Ground Test Campaigns, Fleet/Warfighter Exercises, Fleet Warfighter Operations, Integrated Air & Missile Defense (IAMD) and Engineering Tests using Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) capabilities.
  • Providing system support in the configuration and initialization of C4I system components in order to support concurrent TDL LoS and BLOS communications: NATO Improved Link 11(NILE)/Link22, Link 16 (TDL J), Satellite TDL-J (STJ), and Joint Range Extension Application Protocols (JREAP) (e.g., JREAP-A, JREAP-B, JREAP-C (UDP/IP-Multicast TDL-J (MTJ), TCP/IP-Unicast TDL-J (UTJ)).
  • Experience in developing test plans, detailed procedures, and TDL architectures utilizing concurrent TDLs.
  • Experience providing TDL/Interoperability technical-based solutions, and implement engineering methodologies to ensure operational availability and sustainment of systems during integration, mission execution, and post-test event engineering activities.
  • Experience providing TDL communication monitoring, assessment, and troubleshooting, leading the identification of communication and interoperability issues associated with testbed systems within the T&E construct.
  • Experience as an authorized Data Transfer Agent (DTA) is highly desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
