Research Program Coordinator
Job Description
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Research Program Coordinator to be responsible for protocol implementation and providing support to the Principal Investigator in research-related activities to accomplish the goals of privately and publicly funded research projects and achieve the mission of the Division of Psychiatric Neuroimaging.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Research Recruitment
- Respond to phone and email inquiries in a timely fashion.
- Keep organized records of subject contacts.
- Keep records of advertising if indicated.
- Maintain database of current, potential and declined subjects.
- Set up and attend conference calls and or meetings as needed.
Protocol Implementation
- Coordinate implementation of multiple research studies.
- Compile and maintain IRB protocols.
- Conduct data collection including administering questionnaires, computer tasks and MRI scans to adults including patients diagnosed with various psychiatric and neurological conditions.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures.
- Ensure all research conducted adheres to defined study protocols and local and federal regulations.
Data Management and Analysis
- After data is obtained, review all forms for completeness and accuracy and obtain clarification or corrections if necessary.
- Maintain subject records in an organized manner.
- Train and supervise students or interns on data management.
- Develop and maintain research databases.
- Data cleaning and organization, including data reduction.
- Assist with analyzing results and compiling findings.
- Double data entry and data checking, including supervision of students and interns completing data entry.
Publication/Presentation/Grant Preparation Support
- Support PI in preparing PowerPoint presentations, publications, and grant applications, including conduction of literature searches and generation of graphs, tables and progress reports.
Students
- Provide orientation to research projects to students and interns.
- Ensure assignments given to students and interns are completed in timely fashion.
- Oversee students and interns in research related activities.
Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to work in high magnetic field strength environment, such as MRI facilities, is required.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication, and the ability to interact well with collaborators, study subjects and staff is an absolute must.
- Work both independently with modest direction and as part of a team.
- Reliability, flexibility, professional manner, and organizational skills are essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and record keeping.
- Ability to problem solve, prioritize responsibilities, and manage several priorities at once.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
- Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, or related field, with experience in neuropsychological test administration, MRI scanning and analyses, and adhering to IRB protocols.

Starting Salary Range: $17.20 - $30.30 HRLY ($45,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
