Primary Purpose:
The primary role of the Project Coordinator is to support the account executive and be the primary point of contact for assigned customers when addressing gas and/or electric infrastructure projects or other related questions/concerns. Serve as liaison and the primary contact between SDGE, the customer and their contractors/consultants to assist in project facilitation. PC's proactively respond to assigned customers during unplanned power outages with information concerning cause and estimated restoration in addition to addressing other power quality/reliability concerns. Main contact for assigned customers, requesting an outage to do preventive maintenance on their equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act in a lead capacity when working with assigned commercial industrial customers and their contractors/consultants to manage and assist in coordinating multiple gas and electric projects to including new business, service expansion, and relocation of facilities or system modifications/upgrades.Act as liaison between customer/contractors and various internal departments to include project management, construction and operations centers, gas and electric engineering, system protection, transmission and distribution planning, right of way/land management, environmental to ensure that all project deadlines are being met and that project is proceeding as scheduled.Project coordinators play a major role in conflict resolution and problem solving on a wide variety of issues as project roadblocks are encountered.
- Solely responsible for coordinating all customer requested planned outages involving assigned customers (customer system upgrades, preventive system maintenance, etc.) Develop cost, notify district, issue work order authorization, send written communication to customer for verification and send payment remittance form.Upon completion, work with construction and operations center and construction billing to resolve any billing inconsistencies and determine validity of refund or additional billing to close out work order.Maintain and update customer requested outage spreadsheet for SOX compliance.Work closely with planned outage coordinators and construction and operations centers to schedule outages.
- Solely responsible to respond to unplanned power outages involving assigned customers.Primary role is to proactively respond to assigned customers to assure that steps are being taken to restore service and identify any major concerns/hardships that customer may currently be experiencing and passing that information on to management when necessary.Continue to monitor outage and update customers with major developments in the restoration process and pass on latest restoration time.Project Coordinators are required to be on call 7/24 to respond to unplanned outages or other gas and electric system emergencies when necessary.Maintain a Top 100 customer list that allows PC's to be paged automatically with pertinent customer information when an outage may be affecting these pre-determined customers.
- Work with assigned customers to identify and resolve power quality concerns and responsible for initiating and elevating issues to the appropriate internal departments as necessary.Investigate the number and frequency of outages to a particular site to identify possible causes or solutions.Respond to assigned customers reporting voltage sags or spikes.Responsible for contacting construction and operations and district engineers to initiate investigation process concerning outages and explore resolutions.Determine SDGE's Power Quality group involvement when responding to customer voltage complaints and arrange site visit if necessary where customer protection settings can be reviewed and solutions discussed.Issue trouble orders when appropriate to respond to voltage complaints and follow-up upon completion to identify next steps.
- PC's are solely responsible for all customer communication during gas or electric emergency load drop scenarios such as electric load curtailment (rolling blackouts), manual load shedding, system protection schemes, under frequency, gas curtailment and any other gas or electric infrastructure emergencies; wildfires, storms, etc.PC's alert and update assigned customers during events in addition to updating management in the EOC with concerns and critical impacts that assigned customers may be experiencing.Review and maintain all CIS emergency procedures and reference manuals in the EOC and emergency resource library.PC's coordinate the CIS piece in the annual CPUC filing of SDGE's Emergency Load Curtailment Plan (The Red Book).Solely responsible for reviewing all SDGE electric distribution circuits and determine those that can be included in the block/circuit curtailment list and those circuits that must be excluded due to a customer who meets CPUC exemption criteria.Maintain a list of urgent, sensitive and essential customers that is readily available and can be supplied to the EOC and management as a means to gauge the customer impact of a particular event.Provide account executives with customer lists showing how specific customer sites may be impacted by various events.
- Primary contact for assigned customers and company employees with access issues related to company equipment or customer meter rooms.Sole contact for processing customer request and coordinate installation of gas and electric Isolation Relay meters (pulse initiators).Respond to and investigate easement questions/concerns, transformer painting/graffiti request or other reports of damaged equipment, EMF inquiries, requests to inspect company equipment for PCB's, issue miscellaneous gas or electric trouble orders and follow-up on results as required.
- Make frequent visits to customer sites to attend meetings with customer, contractors/consultants and SDGE employees to discuss customer projects or other gas or electric infrastructure questions and/or concerns.Meet with customer on site to deliver/install company locks.Visit customer site to obtain SDGE structure/facility number or verify particular meter number or number of meters at premise when necessary to ensure our records are accurate.
- PC's possess specialized knowledge of SDGE's gas and electric transmission/distribution infrastructure.Explain and ensure compliance with company rules, policies and procedures.Explain available rate schedules to commercial/industrial customers when necessary.Responsible for preparing and securing various customer contracts and special agreements.
- Advise customers on basic information about the energy use of air conditioning, pumps and motors and other equipment used in large buildings, including specialized processing and manufacturing equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Hybrid Schedule:
- Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow the employee to work onsite three days per week and remotely on the remaining workdays.
- Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
Required Qualifications:
- H.S. Diploma/GED Required.
- 10 years of relevant and related industry experience.
- Requires a thorough knowledge of Company policies and procedures regarding the larger, more complex commercial/industrial account customers.
- Must be able to thoroughly understand technical documents relating to construction and operating characteristics of power systems equipment.
- Initiative and judgment are required in formulating schedules and for comparative energy use analysis for large business accounts.
- Analytical ability is required to identify and estimate consumption of various equipment configurations commonly found in large commercial/industrial customers.
- Strong organization skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience related to customer service, planning or distribution is desirable.
