The Division of Science at NYU Abu Dhabi invites applications for an Instructor (Academic Support Staff) position in the field of Mathematics, with the rank open, depending on experience and qualifications. Excellence in undergraduate education is a hallmark of NYUAD's mission. Consequently, candidates are expected to be inspirational teachers and mentors to undergraduate students. An ideal applicant would have some teaching or teacher assistance experience and be an excellent communicator both orally and in writing in English.
The Instructor will support NYUAD's educational mission by mentoring students and instructing in lecture courses in the mathematics major and the integrated science curriculum for all science and engineering majors at the University. Instructors will teach recitation sections and run review sessions, among other duties such as grading. A demonstrable ability to think creatively about teaching and to work as an effective member of a teaching team is required. Instructors will undergo training prior to the start of each academic year and appointments will be for up to three years, with the opportunity to renew. The position offers opportunities for professional growth.
