  • Review, negotiate, and finalize a variety of contracts, including consulting agreements, services agreements, confidentiality agreements, statements of work, change orders, and potentially other types of agreements depending on experience.

  • Review contract requests for consistency with Halozyme's requirements and policies and respond to requests according to current priorities.

  • Complete initial review and redline of contracts with escalations to attorneys as required.

  • Support the creation of contracts by gathering and vetting required inputs, including business terms from a variety of functional owners.

  • Perform review of mature contracts and manage renewals and amendments.

  • Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies to manage contractual risks.

  • Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of relevant laws, regulatory requirements, and industry standards that may impact Halozyme's contractual agreements.

  • Support the resolution of contractual disputes and assist with legal actions if necessary.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 8 years' work experience (a combination of experience and education may be considered)

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in the legal department of a biotech or pharmaceutical company, with a focus on the contract review process (from drafting through execution)

  • Proficient in the use of CLM software, such as Ironclad.

  • Proved track record of improving contract management processes through the implementation of technology solutions.

  • High degree of ability to use analytical reasoning, logical deduction, reading comprehension with attention to detail and the ability to think critically

  • Ability to collaborate with diverse partners, including colleagues, vendors, CROs, CDMOs, service providers, consultants, collaboration partners, and clinical sites in a highly professional manner

  • Outstanding attention to detail and adaptability to new and/or evolving processes

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Adobe, and DocuSign

  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information appropriately

  • A certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program preferred

In return, we offer you:

  • Hybrid work flexibility requires working in office Tuesday - Thursday
